Wausau Woodchucks News Release

Wisconsin Rapids, WIS - It's opening week in Wisconsin in the Northwoods League presented by Edvest. The Wisconsin Woodchucks lost to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, 13-3, on Thursday night; a five-run Wisconsin Rapids first inning downed the 'Chucks at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.

After Wisconsin pitchers struggled with walks last night in Rockford, the 'Chucks made six errors tonight; they have now committed 12 on the season.

Kevin Bolder (St. Cloud) started on the mound for the Woodchucks and threw three innings, conceding nine runs while striking out two.

At the plate, Mac Caples (Virginia Tech) reached base three times with an RBI. Connor Heady (Kentucky) had a hit and a run in his season debut.

Bolder is lined up to take the loss for the Woodchucks.

The 'Chucks will be back in action in the home opener tomorrow night at Athletic Park when they take on the Rafters in the second game of the series. All broadcasts are available on Fox Sports Radio-Wausau, 1390 AM/93.9 FM.
