
R-Braves Lillibridge Picked For MLB Futures Game

Richmond Braves shortstop Brent Lillibridge has been selected to play for the United States team in the 2007 XM Satellite All Star Futures Game. The game, featuring top prospects from all 30 MLB organizations, will be played July 8 in San Francisco at AT&T Park and televised on espn2.
Lillibridge is hitting .232 with eight steals for Richmond. He began the year in Mississippi where he hit .275 with 14 steals before joining Richmond June 1. Lillibridge, 23, joined the Braves in a trade from Pittsburgh in January. He was rated the number four prospect in the Pirates organization at the time of the trade.
He is one of two Atlanta prospects selected to play in the Futures Game, joining 18 year old shortstop Elvis Andrus who is currently playing with Myrtle Beach of the Carolina League. Andrus will play for the World team.
