Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and Pocono Raceway are teaming up on a special "buy one, get one" ticket promotion.

Anyone that purchases a single game ticket or group ticket to the Yankees 1:30 p.m. game on Saturday, July 7 vs. Ottawa will receive a grandstand ticket to the Pennsylvania 200 ARCA RE/MAX series race on Saturday, August 4, 2007. The retail value on a grandstand ticket is $20.

The July 7 game vs. Ottawa is part of the first ever day/night doubleheader in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre history. Game two, which requires a separate admission, starts at 7:00 p.m.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series has a tradition of running prior to each of the two 500 milers held at the 2.5-mile Long Pond triangle.

Based out of Toledo, Ohio, ARCA has been in business since 1953 and is the second oldest stock car organization, with only NASCAR having been around longer.

The August 4 ARCA Pennsylvania 200 will mark the 45th Series race held on the 2.5-mile triangle since July of 1983, although the very first race was run on the former ¾-mile oval in 1969.

The ARCA winner's list from Pocono reads like a who's who of talent and tradition. From names like Earnhardt to Mears, from Newman to Kimmel, from Wallace to Steele, victory lane at Pocono for the ARCA warriors has become hallowed ground.

Game tickets must be purchased in person at the PNC Field box office or by calling group sales at 570-969-2255 to receive the BOGO offer. The PNC Field Box Office is open 10-5 Monday through Friday, 10-4 on Saturday and from 10:00 a.m. to the end of the game on game days.
