TONIGHT'S GAME: Is the second of a four-game series, the 10th of 16 meetings and the sixth of eight at Knights Stadium. Richmond is 5-4 vs. the Knights, 2-3 at Knights Stadium. The Braves are 130-126 all-time against Charlotte. The 28th of 51 games vs. South Division clubs; the 14th of 24 on the road. Richmond is 16-11 vs. the South, 8-5 on the road. It is the second of a four game road trip. The Braves lead the South Division by three and a half games over second-place Durham.

LAST NIGHT'S GAME: The Braves beat the Knights 9-4 in 10 innings Monday at Knights Stadium. The Braves rallied from a 3-0 deficit and smacked three home runs in the 10th inning to win the opener of a four game series. The Knights took a 1-0 lead in the second on an RBI double by Thomas Collaro. The tallied again in the third on an Earl Snyder sac fly. Kenny Perez' sac fly in the sixth gave the Knights a 3-0 lead. Richmond got on the scoreboard in the seventh on an RBI ground out by Larry Bigbie. The Braves jumped in front with a three run eighth. Jonathan Schuerholz smacked a home run and Brandon Jones doubled two in to give the Braves a 4-3 lead. The Knights tied the game in the home half on a Casey Rogowski home run. In the 10th the Braves erupted for five runs. Brent Lillibridge drilled a two-run homer. Jones followed with a homer. Larry Bigbie capped the rally with a two-run homer. Royce Ring earned the win. David Aardsma took the loss. Canizares, Jones, and Lillibridge had three hits for the Braves. Collaro had three hits for the Kinghts.

BRAVES DIG THE LONG BALL: The Braves hit three home runs in an inning for the second straight game Tuesday. Their three home runs in the tenth inning were their first three extra-inning home runs of the season. Their four home runs last night set a season high. The Braves hit more than three homers in a game for the first time since 2004 (Richmond hit six at Pawtucket June 25, 2004).

BOOMING BATS: The Braves reached double figures in the hit column for the fourth straight game Tuesday. Richmond has 50 hits in their last four games. The Braves are hitting .332 in seven August games. The Braves have scored 32 runs in their last four games.

BONUS FRAMES: The Braves are now 7-3 in extra-inning games this season. They have the second best winning percentage in the IL in extra-innings this season (Syracuse is number one at 9-2). The Braves played five extrainning games in the first month of the season but have played only five since May 4.

ON THE ROSTER: INF Martin Prado was called up to Atlanta prior to yesterday's game. It is his second big league promotion this season. Prado was fourth in the IL in hitting (.320) and led the league in fielding percentage at second base (.997). OF Larry Bigbie was activated from the Disabled List. RHP Joey Devine has been optioned to Richmond. He will join the active roster upon reporting. The Braves roster stands at 23 (11 pitchers, two catchers, six infielders, four outfielders) with three players on the DL. The Braves have made 107 roster moves this season. 13 different R-Braves have earned promotions to Atlanta this season.

ON THE LEADER BOARD: The Braves lead the IL in batting average (.270), ERA (3.60), most shutouts (13), and fewest home runs allowed (75). They are second in steals (118). The Braves lead the league in fielding percentage (.984) and fewest errors (68). Richmond leads the IL in percentage of opponents caught stealing (64-148 .432). Gregor Blanco is tied for third in the league in runs scored (63).

STREAKERS: The Braves have won four straight games. It is their fourth winning streak of four or more games this season (their season high is eight from April 25 to May 3). Brandon Jones has hits in eight straight games (15-32 .469). He is six for his last nine and has four straight multiple-hit games. He has raised his batting average during the streak from .186 to .310. Barbaro Canizares is six for his last eight. He is hitting .591 in six game since returning from the DL. Brent Lillibridge has four multiple-hit games in his last five contests (9-21 .429). Brayan Pena's three game hitting streak ended last night. The Braves are 15 games over .500. They have been a season-high 16 games over .500 twice this season (27-11 5/18) and 60-44 7/27).
