
Quintana, Braves Blank BlueClaws 7-0 on Saturday Night

ROME, GA - Zach Quintana threw six scoreless innings as Rome pounded out 11 hits in a 7-0 win over the BlueClaws on Saturday night at State Mutual Stadium.
The loss snaps Lakewood's three-game win streak and prevented them from winning four straight games for the second time this year. The BlueClaws, who fall to 13-10/46-44, are now 3-2 on their seven game trip which concludes on Monday night. They were shutout for the 10th time this year.
Quintana improved to 2-2 while equaling his longest outing of the season for Rome. The Braves got back to .500 in the second half at 11-11/42-50.
Jordan Edgerton drove in two runs for Rome while five players - Ozzy Albies, Omar Obregon, Connor Oliver, and Joseph Daris, had two hits apiece.
Connor Oliver's RBI double put Rome on the board in the second inning, and they added two in the third on an RBI single by Jordan Edgerton and a groundout by Matt Tellar. In the fourth, the BlueClaws made two errors, one on Drew Stankiewicz which scored a run with another coming home on a groundout by Omar Obregon.
Shane Watson came out after four innings for Lakewood, allowing five runs, four earned.
Rome got two more in the fifth off Scott Harris, one on an RBI double by Joseph Daris and another on an RBI double by Ozzy Albies. Harris came out after one inning and Jason Zgardowski threw two scoreless innings of relief for the BlueClaws.
Kyle Martin went 1-4 for Lakewood but extended his hitting streak to eight games over which he is 16-32. Lakewood also tied their season high with four errors in the loss.
The series with Rome continues on Sunday afternoon. RHP Will Morris (1-0, 0.56) starts for Lakewood against LHP Oriel Caicedo (3-4).
