Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release
MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that they have re-acquired original-Viper Quin Humphrey (6-4, 205, Youngstown State).
The second round (24th overall) pick of the 2007 NBA Development League draft, Humphrey averaged 7.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 92 games (54 starts) over the last two years. The 25-year old guard opened this season in Portugal with Ass. Academica de Coimbra, where he averaged 12.0 points and 6.2 rebounds in 11 games between November 7 and January 23.
Humphrey is expected to be in uniform for Tuesday's 7:30 p.m. game against the Austin Toros at State Farm Arena.
The Vipers also waived Sean Barnette (6-5, 220, Wingate) due to a lower right leg injury suffered in Friday's win at Bakersfield. Barnette is averaging 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in four games (one start) since joining the Vipers. Including his time at Iowa, Barnette is averaging 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 29 games (two starts).
