
D-Fenders Steal Win Over Armor In Head-To-Head Battle

Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders pulled away with the win over the Springfield Armor 98-88, Tuesday afternoon at STAPLES Center.
The first quarter proved to be an all out duel between the D-Fenders and the Armor as the period finished with 16 lead changes. While the opponents traded the lead several times, Springfield's Noel Felix nailed a jump shot late in the period to grab the first quarter advantage 24-22.
Los Angeles outscored Springfield 28-20 in the second quarter, bringing the first half to a close with a 50-44 lead over their opponent. Justin Hawkins carried the Armor with 14 points, while teammate Dante Milligan added seven rebounds to finish the first half. James Wright grabbed eight points in the second quarter, leading the D-Fenders with 14 points at the close of the half.
Although the D-Fenders maintained the lead through most of the third quarter, Abuduli Jalloh rolled in a lay-up with 2.1 seconds left in the period, lifting the Armor to a 68-67 lead. Milligan brought in 10 points and seven rebounds in the third quarter, contributing to his team's one point lead. Springfield outscored the home team 24-17 in the quarter.
The D-Fenders rallied late in the fourth, taking the lead with 6:31 left on the clock. Los Angeles forced Springfield to commit seven turnovers in the fourth quarter, resulting in 10 points for the home team. Frank Robinson and Joe Crawford both brought in 12 points in the final quarter, stretching the D-Fenders lead to 10 points, finishing 98-88.
Springfield's Hawkins led his team with 18 points, while teammate Milligan contributed with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Crawford carried the D-Fenders with 19 points. James Wright and Ryan Forehan-Kelly added 16 points apiece, lifting the D-Fenders over their opponent.
