Quebec Sweeps Rockland

THREE RIVERS, Quebec - The Rockland Boulders lost their sixth straight game of the season after falling to the Quebec Capitales 7-2 on Sunday afternoon in Can-Am League action.
With the loss, the two-time defending league champions swept the Boulders, which is the first time this season that Rockland dropped every game in a series. The game was called in the top of the ninth inning, with Quebec up at bat, due to rain.
Sebastien Boucher paced the Quebec offense with four hits while driving in two runs.
The Capitales pieced together four hits to plate two runs early in the top of the first off Boulders' starter Roger Lincoln. Rockland, though, cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the second after John Fitzpatrick's RBI ground out scored Vic Buttler.
The score remained the same heading into the fifth, where both teams exchanged runs but it was Quebec scoring two to take a 5-2 lead midway through. Dan Barbero and Robert Wagner both collected RBIs in the frame, which chased Lincoln from the game.
Boucher collected on of his two RBIs in the top of the eighth, as Quebec plated a pair to take a 7-2 edge over Rockland. The rain started to become heavier in Three Rivers, forcing the umpires to call it in the ninth.
Lincoln is charged with his first loss after giving up a season high 11 hits over five innings of work. Dan Sausville picked up his first win striking out five through six innings.
The Boulders have the day off on Monday, but then head to Brockton to take on the Rox in a two game set starting on Tuesday, June 14, before opening up Provident Bank Park on June 16. For more information about the Boulders, including tickets, log onto www.rocklandboulders.com or call 845-364-0009.
