Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

?Lancaster, CA - Rancho's seven-game winning streak came to an end on Friday night in Lancaster, as the JetHawks served up a game the Quakes will soon not forget, a 21-1 loss at The Hangar.

The JetHawks scored three in the first, five in the second and eight in the third, taking an early 16-0 lead and eventually forced the Quakes to use two different position players to finish off the contest.

Making his Cal League debut, Quakes' starter Wills Montgomerie (0-1) only retired two batters and allowed three runs in the first, before departing in favor of Ryan Moseley.

Moseley allowed five in the second and three additional runs in the third, before making way for Connor Strain, who allowed five more of his own in the third.

The Quakes finally recorded a hit in the fifth with two outs, when Brandon Montgomery reached safely with a single against JetHawks' starter Logan Longwith (3-4), who allowed just one run on three hits over six frames.

The score remained 16-0 until the sixth, when Jared Walker doubled to open the inning, then scored on a Cody Thomas double, making it 16-1.

The JetHawks got four in the bottom of the sixth though, then added another in the seventh to round out the scoring.

Both Nick Yarnall and Steve Berman pitched in the game, with Berman giving up just one hit in a scoreless eighth.

Rancho collected just four hits on the night and allowed a season-worst 21 hits.

The Quakes (67-45, 32-10) will send Austin Hamilton (1-3) to the mound on Saturday, as they look to bounce back against the JetHawks. Up for Lancaster, will be right-hander Antonio Santos (2-1), with game time set for 6:05pm.

On Friday, August 10th, the Quakes open up a six-game home stand against the JetHawks. Friday will be Allstar Kia Walker Buehler Bobblhead Giveaway, as 1,500 fans will take home a Buehler Bobblehead. Game time is 7:05pm and gates will open at 6:05pm. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
