Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Hyun-Jin Ryu and Zac Rosscup combined for five scoreless frames as part of a rehab assignment and the Quakes smacked three homers in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Lake Elsinore Storm.

The two Dodgers' rehabbers looked sharp at LoanMart Field, but it was Isaac Anderson who went the final four innings to record the win, giving Rancho a seventh straight victory overall.

Cody Thomas took Padres' rehabber Brian Mitchell (0-1) deep in the first, a two-run shot for his 16th of the year, putting the Quakes in front for good.

Omar Estevez (11th) and Nick Yarnall (3rd) also hit two-run homers, helping the Quakes beat the Storm for the sixth straight time in head-to-head action.

Anderson (7-5) allowed just a two-run homer to Jorge Ona (6th) in the seventh, but otherwise looked terrific, fanning seven over four innings of work.

Ryu, who is expected to make approximately four to five starts in the minor leagues while he recovers from a torn groin, allowed just two hits and struck out four, throwin only 47 pitches in his four frames.

Rosscup worked a 1-2-3 frame, recording one punch-out while throwing 10 pitches.

The Quakes (67-44, 32-9) will take their show on the road on Friday, opening a three-game series in Lancaster against the second-place JetHawks. Right-hander Wills Montgomerie will make his Rancho debut on Friday, while Lancaster will roll with Logan Longwith (2-4), with first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm from The Hangar.

The Quakes return home to LoanMart Field on Friday, August 10th, with Walker Buehler Bobblehead Giveaway, thanks to Allstar Kia! Tickets to the game are also available online at rcquakes.com or by calling (909) 481-5000.
