Puck-Dropping Pooch Featured At Barons Game Tonight
April 10, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Cleveland Barons News Release
The Cleveland Barons will host the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks at 5pm on the National City Rink located in Gund Arena on Sunday, April 10th.
The game will be started in a unique manner. "Bear", a Golden Retriever, will drop the game's first puck at center ice. "Bear" is the first quadruped to drop a puck prior to a Barons game.
The ceremonial puck-drop is part of an awareness/fundraising campaign by Golden Retrievers In Need (G.R.I.N.).
The puck-drop will be preceded by the award's presentation for the Barons Man of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Most Valuable Player.
