BEAUMONT, TX - Kyle Kidney's rebound goal with 1:59 remaining in regulation lifted the Florence Pride to a 4-3 win over the Texas Wildcatters Saturday night at Ford Arena.

Florence had good early pressure on Texas goaltender Mark Scally, and it would pay off with a goal just 3:12 into the opening period. Kidney fed Bobby Russell streaking up the left-wing side. Russell let a cannon go from the top of the left-wing circle. Scally got a piece of the shot, and the puck shot up into the air. It ended up coming down and hitting Scally in the back, and rolled across the line, giving Russell his second goal in a Pride sweater. The assist extended Kidney's scoring streak to five games.

Texas tied the game at the 3:49 mark of the second period. Ashlee Langdone, stationed in the near corner of the Pride zone, centered a pass for Rae Metz, whose quick one-timer beat Matt Underhill for his seventh goal of the season.

But, the Pride came back to go back ahead before the period ended. While on a power play, Scott Balan let a quick slap shot go from the point. Scally made the save, but Wes Goldie on the near post was in the right position to put the rebound home for his team-leading 25th of the season at the 13:09 mark.

Just 4:55 into the third period, the Wildcatters tied the game at two. Brian Passmore skated from behind the net to the near corner, and centered a pass for Metz, who beat Underhill for his second of the night.

Just over three minutes later, while on a power play, Florence went back on top. Shaun Sutter's shot from the left wing circle was tipped in front by Goldie, who got his second of the night and 26th of the season, to move into fourth in the league in goals scored.

Texas tied the game on a freak goal with 4:15 to go in regulation. John Snowden from his own end played the puck down the length of the ice. Underhill misplayed the bouncing puck as it rolled into the net to tie the game at three.

With just 1:59 to go in regulation, the Pride would get the game-winner. Tim Donnelly took a shot from the right point, which Scally stopped, but Kidney on the near post went top shelf with the rebound, and scored his 11th of the season.

The Pride play game four of their five-game road trip on Sunday afternoon, as they travel to Lafayette, Louisiana for a 5:00 p.m. ET face off with the Louisiana IceGators. The Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show starts at 4:40 on WDAR Sunny 105.5 FM.
