
Baxter Goes On IR; Lupandin Activated

BILOXI, Miss. â The Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL announced today that defenseman Jim Baxter has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve, while defenseman Andrei Lupandin (AHWN-dray lew-PAHN-dihn) has been activated from the 7-day injured reserve.
Baxter, 24, ranks second overall among ECHL defenseman with 13 goals, 48 points and +24. The 6-foot-3 and 215-pound Baxter is third for league defenseman with 35 assists. In 2002-03, Baxter was named ECHL Defenseman of the Year and All-ECHL First Team Defenseman.
Lupandin, 25, returns after missing the last 14 games. The 5-foot-10 and 190-pound Lupandin has tallied three goals and 13 points through 19 games this season. The native of Kharkiv, Ukraine is also +6.
The Sea Wolves get back into action at 7:35 p.m. tonight against the Louisiana IceGators, in a showdown for first place in the Central Division, at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Promotions for the game include $2 drafts and $2 hotdogs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and a Steffon Walby poster giveaway.
