FLORENCE, SC -- Wes Goldie scored two goals, and Luke Earl and Shaun Sutter both notched a goal and an assist, as the Florence Pride defeated the Louisiana IceGators 4-1 Sunday afternoon at the Florence Civic Center. The Pride have won four straight games at home.

Louisiana opened the scoring 9:06 into the second period. Alex Materukhin got behind the Pride defense and beat goaltender Sebastien Laplante for his 26th goal of the season.

The Pride came back to tie the gaem 3:09 later when Earl tipped a shot past Frederic Cloutier. It was Earl's sixth goal of the season.

Florence went ahead for good at 14:53 when Wes Goldie connected off of assists from Earl and Mark McRae.

Goldie provided an insurance goal 3:09 into the second period, tallying a shorthanded goal, and giving him 34 goals on the season.

Sutter set the final, scoring into an empty net with 11 seconds left.

Florence's penalty kill continued its strong play of late, killing off all eight of Louisiana's power-play opportunities. The IceGators entered the game with the league's top-ranked power-play unit. Over their last seven games, the Pride have killed off 32 of 35 (91.4) opposing power plays.

The Pride play two road games next week, traveling to Gwinnett on Friday and Columbus on Saturday. Florence returns home Saturday, March 27, hosting the Augusta Lynx at 7:30.
