Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â The Pee Dee Pride announced today that the team has joined forces with Colortyme Rent-to-Own to help raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
On Monday, March 14, the Pride and Colortyme present the second annual JDRF Golf Tournament at The Traces Golf Club. Individual entries are $65, and foursomes are $250. The first 24 teams to register for the tournament are guaranteed to play with a Pride representative. Lunch will be served at 11:00 a.m., followed by the shotgun start at noon. Following the tournament, a live auction will be held in the clubhouse that is open to everyone. Some of the items available for bid include: Whirlpool washer and dryer, Sony home theater system, and a Michael Vick autographed football.
Later that week, the Pride will wear special St. Patrick's Day jerseys at their games against the Greenville Grrrowl on March 17 and the Charlotte Checkers on March 18. The jerseys will be auctioned off following the March 18 game, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The jersey auction, as well as the auction at the golf tournament, will be conducted by local auctioneer Allan Brasington.
In addition, at the Pride home games on March 17 and 18, the JDRF will be selling bracelets on the concourse for $1 to help raise additional funds.
