Geneva, IL - The Tri-City Storm faceoff against the Chicago Steel today in the finale game of the season series. Chicago won last night's game by a final score of 5-2. Tri-City will wrap up its cross conference schedule against Eastern Conference teams in this afternoon's matchup. The Storm currently hold on to the 6th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference and will look to capture two points in the league standings with a win today.

Tri-City (27-19-1-2) fell to Chicago last night after taking a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period. The Steel outscored the Storm 4-0 in the 3rd period and gave the Storm its first regulation loss this season when leading after the 2nd period. Johnny McDermott scored a shorthanded goal and Filip Forsmark scored a power play goal in the Storm's loss. Jake Barczewski recorded the loss in goal for Tri-City and fell to 8-7-1-1 on the season. Tri-City will look to snap a three game winless skid in today's matchup against the Steel. Tyler Madden recorded his team leading 32nd point of the season with an assist on the game's opening goal from Johnny McDermott. Madden is also leading Tri-City with 14 goals on the year. Bryan Yoon leads Tri-City with 27 assists on the season and is currently has the 3rd most assists of any defenseman in the USHL. Tri-City is 6th in the Western Conference entering today's game with 57 points in the league standings.
Chicago (23-22-1-4) improved to 14-9-0-4 on home ice in last night's 5-2 win over the Storm. Oskar Autio posted his 18th victory in net this season in the win and now stands at 18-16-1-0 on the season. Nick Abruzzese and Aaro Vidgren each netted two goals for the Steel offense. Chicago remains the 6th place team in the Eastern Conference standings after last night's win. The Steel and the Storm are both 4-5-0-1 over their past ten games. Defenseman Graham Lillibridge assisted on Abruzzese's 2nd goal of the game and has now recorded 40 points on the season. Lillibridge leads all USHL defenseman in assists (36) and total points (40). Chicago can pass Dubuque for 5th place in the Eastern Conference with a win in this afternoon's game.
