Matchup Notes

Tonight marks the first of four meetings this season between the Oil Kings and Pats. These two Clubs will link up again in less than two weeks with a date at Rogers Place on November 24.

Last season, the Oil Kings dropped three of their four games with Regina, but their lone win did come in the season series finale with the Oil Kings skating to a 3-2 win at the Brandt Centre on March 8. Kolby Hay earned first star honours on that night making 31 saves on 33 shots while Gavin Hodnett's second period power play goal would hold up as the winner.

All-time, the Oil Kings and Pats have met 60 times in the regular season with the Oil Kings holding a record of 27-29-3-1 with 14 of their wins coming at the Brandt Centre.

Coming In

The Oil Kings come in having dropped three straight games and are coming off their roughest loss of the season falling 10-2 to the Calgary Hitmen at Rogers Place on Saturday.

In the loss, the Oil Kings got goals from Skyler Bruce, who is soaring to a point-per-game pace since being acquired from the Vancouver Giants last month, and a power play goal from Adam Jecho giving the team a power play goal now in six straight games (6/38) following a four-game run without one.

The Pats come in off snapping a three-game losing streak courtesy a come-from-behind 4-2 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Sunday at the Brandt Centre. Pats captain Tanner Howe scored twice, including the game-winner, to help the Pats roar back from a 2-0 deficit with four unanswered goals starting late in the second period.
