PrairieThunder Drops 5-2 Contest to Quad City on Sunday Afternoon

The Bloomington PrairieThunder's eleven game streak (8-0-3) of earning at least one point in the standings came to an end on Sunday afternoon at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum as the Quad City Mallards defeated Bloomington 5-2. The Mallards Obi Aduba scored the game winning goal at 15:34 of the second period. Aduba was awarded the number one star of the game.

Bloomington's goals came from Ryan McLeod and Brett Holmberg. Three of the Mallards goals were powerplay tallies and the final two of the night came on empty net goals after PThunder netminder Brad Phillips had been pulled for an extra attacker. Bloomington (32-17-5) loses in regulation for the first time since February 9th at Fort Wayne but remains in third place in the CHL's Turner Conference, three points behind both Colorado & Rapid City (who are tied for first) and one point ahead of fourth place Missouri. Quad City moves into the fifth place improving to 31-26-1.

Bloomington heads on the road for a four-game road trip beginning this Tuesday night, March 8th, in the Fort Worth, Texas suburb of Richland Hills, when the PrairieThunder play the Texas Brahmas at 7:05pm.

The PrairieThunder's next home game is Wednesday, March 16th @ 7:05pm against the Missouri Mavericks.
