PrairieThunder Defeat RiverKings 4-3 in Overtime on Saturday Night

The first place Bloomington PrairieThunder defeated the Mississippi RiverKings 4-3 in overtime in the Memphis suburb of Southaven, Mississippi on Saturday night. Bill Bagron scored the game winning goal just :52 seconds into overtime. Veteran Jon Booras scored twice and captain Jason Deleurme also scored for the PThunder who improved to 24-14-2 on the season. With the overtime loss, the RiverKings are now 21-20-2. For the three game series against the RiverKings this week, Bloomington took two of three, capturing four of a possible six points and the PrairieThunder leads the season series against the RiverKings 3-2.

With the victory, Bloomington remains in first place in the Central Hockey League's Turner (Northern) Conference and PrairieThunder goaltender Marco Emond won his league leading 19th game stopping 17 of 20 RiverKings shots. And the power plays on the night were very lopsided as Bloomington only had two opportunities (going 1 for 2) while the RiverKings had seven opportunities (1 for 7).

Bloomington returns home on Tuesday, February 1st against the Quad City Mallards. That will be the re-scheduled game which was moved from March 18th for the Sugarland Concert.
