Bucks Dealt Tough Loss in Allen

ALLEN, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Allen Americans 4-2 Saturday night at the Allen Event Center. The Bucks have lost four straight games as they fall to 14-21-6 (34 points).

Laredo led 2-1 after two periods but Allen scored three unanswered goals in the final frame to win their sixth straight game.

Bruce Graham scored the game-winner 9:15 into the third period when he knifed through the Bucks defense and scored from the bottom of the slot to score his 19th of the season.

The Americans (30-7-1) tied the game at 2-2 just 1:21 into the third when Colton Yellow Horn scored on a one-timer from the right circle to net his 16th of the campaign. Yellow Horn had two goals Friday for the Americans.

Jarrett Lukin scored an empty-net goal for the Americans with just four seconds left in the game to make it 4-2.

The Bucks were outshot 9-4 in the third and 29-20 in the contest.

The Bucks jumped out in front of the Americans 7:03 into the first period when Ryan Bennett jammed in a rebound right in front of the net to pick up his second of the season. Bennett has points in four of seven games with the Bucks.

The Americans tied the game at 1-1 with three minutes left in the first when David Strathman scored from an odd angle on the right wing to net his ninth of the campaign.

Allen outshot Laredo 9-8 in the first period.

The Bucks would take a 2-1 lead with just 2:58 left in the second period when Neil Trimm took a pass from Daniel Koger on an odd-man rush and scored from the slot to pick up his 14th of the season. The point was Trimm's first since returning to the lineup from injury Friday night.

Allen outshot Laredo 11-8 in the second period.

Dave Wilson stopped 25 of 28 shots he faced in his first start for the Bucks while Scott Campbell set aside 18 of 20 for the Americans.

Brian Matte did not travel with the team on the road trip due to a lower-body injury.

The Bucks head to Arizona to start a three-game series Tuesday night at Tim's Toyota Center. Game time is 8:05pm.
