PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium at 5 p.m. ET.

First baseman Rich Poythress has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to May 16, with right wrist tendonitis.

Poythress has played in 23 games this season and is hitting .244 with four home runs and 11 runs batted in.

The Suns roster now stands at 24 active players and a revised roster is attached.

Today the Suns are due to trot out the righty Angel Sanchez (0-6, 5.80), while the Blue Wahoos are set to counter with a right-hander of their own in Michael Lorenzen (2-2, 2.51).
