JACKSON, TENN. (MAY 18, 2014) - The Generals (18-25) improved to 17-4 on the season when scoring four-or-more runs with an 8-1 victory over the Montgomery Biscuits (23-20) Sunday in Jackson. Mickey Wiswall (2x3, 2 R, 3 RBI) homered in Jackson's four-run fifth inning as the six, seven, and eight hitters in the Jackson lineup went 6-for-9 with six runs, four RBI, two doubles and a home run. Trevor Miller tossed a season-high 6.1 innings and earned his third-straight win.

The win evened the series at 2-2, forcing the rubber match on Monday morning.

The game was locked in a pitcher's duel until the fifth inning. Jeremy Moore led off the fifth and took the first pitch he saw from Trevor Miller over the right field wall and the Biscuits led 1-0. The Generals responded though.

John Hicks (2x3, 3 R, BB) extended his on base streak to 18 games with a lead-off single. Wiswall then hit his fourth homer of the season and Jackson took the lead 2-1.

With two on and no outs, Ketel Marte (0x5, RBI) hit a grounder to first. The Biscuits got a force out at second, but then tried to get the lead runner Mike Dowd (2x3, R, RBI). Dowd proceeded to get in a rundown, but scored when Biscuits' catcher Luke Bailey dropped the ball. Montgomery manager Brady Williams was ejected for arguing that Dowd was out of the baseline.

The ejection did not phase the Generals, as Jamal Austin (1x5, R) scored another run to increase the lead to 4-1 after five innings.

Dario Pizzano (1x4, R) racked up his first Double-A base hit in the sixth with a single to center. After a double by Hicks moved Pizzano to third, Wiswall hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Pizzano. Then, Dowd doubled to score Hicks and the lead increased to 6-1 after six innings.

Hicks scored on a passed ball and Wiswall scored when Marte hit into a fielder's choice and the Jackson lead ballooned to 8-1 after the eighth.

The Generals received a great start from Trevor Miller (3-4, 3.65) as he went a season-high 6.1 innings and allowed only one run on three hits. Miller also struck out four in his eighth start to pick up his third win in his third straight outing.

Roberto Gomez (1-1, 3.60) shutout Jackson for four innings, but lost his command in the fifth as he gave up four runs on seven hits in his second Double-A start. The tall right hander received his first Double-A loss dropping his record to 1-1 on the season.

Jackson and Montgomery finish this five-game series Monday at the Ballpark in Jackson. Cam Hobson (3-3, 2.96) starts for the Generals and Michael Colla (4-0, 3.24) will get the ball for Montgomery. The game is scheduled to start at 11:05 am and can be heard on 96.5 ESPN, TuneIn Radio and jacksongeneralsbaseball.com.
