The Power took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on back-to-back RBI doubles from Robbie Grossman and Tony Sanchez. Tyler Kolodny's single scored Elvin Polanco, Buck Britton doubled to score Ron Welty and Kolodny came home on Victor Castillo's groundout. West Virginia answered with a three run second inning to take the lead. Danny Bomback reached on Britton's fielding error which allowed Austin McClune to score and Grossman capped the inning with a two-run homer, his fourth of the year.

A five run third allowed the Power to pull away. Danny Bomback singled in the first run and scored on Tyler Kolodny's errant throw before Tony Sanchez belted his first professional homer, a three-run blast that capped the big inning. The offense wasn't done, as they plated five more in the fifth inning. Calvin Anderson hit a two-run shot, his ninth of the year before Danny Bomback belted an RBI single. Startling Marte's base hit scored Bomback and Sanchez walked with the bases loaded to plate the final run of the inning. Kyle Hudson scored on a wild pitch in the seventh and Elvin Polanco brought in Delmarva's final run later in the inning on a sacrifice fly.

Gabriel Alvarado (5-7) allowed three runs, one earned on eight hits over five innings and fanned five in a winning effort. Chris Salberg (1-2) allowed ten runs on eight hits over two and a third and suffered the loss. The Shorebirds used seven different pitchers, including one of their catchers Brendan Monaghan who pitched a scoreless eighth inning. There were four ejections. Delmarva reliever Brent Allar was ejected for hitting Starling Marte with a pitch in the fourth inning and Delmarva's manager Orlando Gomez was ejected as well. Reliever Shane Matthews was tossed for arguing balls and strikes in the fifth and Jeremy Farrell was ejected for the same thing a few innings later.
