TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

RH Taylor Hill (9-6, 4.72) vs. RH Zack Von Rosenberg (3-4, 3.73)

Hill: Allowed 2 R on 4 H with 3 K and 2 BB over 5.0 IP in 7/28-1 Loss @ LEX (2-0 Legends)

Von Rosenberg: Allowed 1 R on 7 H over 6.0 IP with 4 K and 2 BB in 7/28 Loss @ LWD (2-0 Claws)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 12-7 to Hagerstown on Wednesday night. Each team scored twice in the first inning, but the Suns added a run in the third and three in the fourth to build a 6-2 advantage. The Power rallied back with a three-run fifth inning and trailed 6-5. Hagerstown would score twice in the seventh and four time in the eighth to create a gap that West Virginia could not overcome. Mike Jefferson took with loss after allowing six runs on eight hits. Four different Power players had multi-hit games, paced by three from Alen Hanson.

COMPANY AT THE TOP: West Virginia fell back into a tie for first with last night's loss to Hagerstown. Entering play tonight, the Power and Suns have a one game lead over Hickory and Lakewood. Tonight's game is the final meeting this year between West Virginia and Hagerstown. The Power host Lakewood for one more series starting tomorrow and will entertain Hickory for one more series from August 23-26.

HIT ME: Alen Hanson and Gregory Polanco rank first and second in the league with 130 and 128 hits apiece, respectively. Hanson's hit total places him in a tie with two other players in all of Minor League Baseball. Reno's Adam Eaton leads all minor leaguers, regardless of level, with 152 hits. No Power player has led the South Atlantic League in hits since Lorenzo Cain's 2006 club record 162.

BYE BYE JULY: The Power finished July with a 17-12 record, tied with Asheville for the best mark during the month. West Virginia had its' best offensive month, batting .289 over 29 games, and heldits' best ERA in any month this year at 3.80, two full runs lower than April's season-high 5.80 ERA.

RBI GUY: Gregory Polanco finished the month of July with a flourish, driving in four runs Tuesday to push his month-long total to 30 runs batted in and set a new club record. The previous high mark was 29, set by two players during the time when West Virginia was affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers. Mat Gamel drove in 29 in May of 2006 and Kenny Holmberg matched his record in June of 2007. Polanco now has 76 runs batted in this season over 103 games. Steffan Wilson owns the club's single season RBI record with 100 during the 2008 season.

HOME RUN KING: Jose Osuna hit nine home runs in July and set a new franchise record. The old record was shared at eight by Mat Gamel (May 2006), Stephen Chapman (July 2007), and Matt LaPorta (August 2007). Osuna's sixth inning home run on Monday set the new record at nine.

SUNS SHOWDOWN: West Virginia trails Hagerstown 56-52 in the all-time series 55-52, but have gone27-20 against the Suns Appalachian Power Park since 2005.

STILL GOING: Francisco Diaz has a six-game hitting streak intact heading into his next game, while Eric Avila has hit safely in 11 consecutive games.

PROMO CHECK- AUGUST 2 & 3: The Power will hold two BIG 12 promotional night's during this homestand. Tonight is NFL Night featuring an appearance by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, while August 3 is WVU Night featuring an appearance by West Virginia University legend Pat White.

POWER POINTS: Zack Dodson was placed on the Temporary Inactive List by Pittsburgh on Tuesday. The Pirates then promoted Emmanuel De Leon from State College to fill Dodson's spot on the active roster. De Leon made 16 appearances for the Power before being transferred to State College on May 26.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat Chicago 8-4. Starling Marte and Mike McKenry hit home runs to key the Buccos offense... Indianapolis was off last night... Altoona lost 4-3 at Trenton in 11 innings... Bradenton lost 6-5 to Lakeland in walk-off fashion... State College lost 4-2 to Hudson Valley.
