SALISBURY, MARY. - Tim Carver's first professional home run was a grand slam, and it helped the BlueClaws take control of Thursday's game early in their 10-0 win over the Shorebirds.

Carver hit two home runs this season for the University of Arkansas, but with two outs and the bases loaded in the 2nd inning he tucked a line drive just fair inside the left field foul pole for his first as a BlueClaw.

Lakewood used a run in the 5th inning, a run in the 7th inning and four runs in the 9th inning to comfortably win the ballgame. The BlueClaws won three-out-of-four at Delmarva and will now shift their focus to Charleston, W.V. for the final four games of their road trip.

Hoby Milner was magnificent for the BlueClaws in seven innings of shutout work. He allowed just three hits without a walk and struck out seven Shorebirds for his third win of the season. His record is 3-2 with a 3.41 ERA in seven starts with Lakewood. Of Milner's seven starts, he has now gone 5.0+ innings in four, in which he is 3-0 with a 0.77 ERA (2 earned runs in 22.2 IP).

As a team, the BlueClaws have gone 4-2 in their last six games and allowed five earned runs- 13 total- over that time (53.0 IP, 0.85 ERA). With the win, Lakewood remains a game out of first place in the South Atlantic League North Division as they begin their four-game series at West Virginia Friday.

Lakewood will send Gabriel Arias (3-5, 4.24) to the mound in his third start of the season against Nick Kingham (3-7, 5.13).

First pitch for Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
