POWER REPLAY: West Virginia and Delmarva finished Friday night's suspended game and play the regularly scheduled Saturday game last night. The Power won the suspended game 9-1 with three West Virginia pitchers combining to limit the Shorebirds to one hit over seven innings. Robbie Kilcrease became the benefactor of a five-run second inning before play was halted Friday evening. In a seven inning nightcap, Willy Garcia hit a solo home run for a 1-0 lead after four, but Delmarva plated two in the fifth and two in the sixth for a 4-1 win. Robby Rowland pitched a complete game but took the loss.

DOUBLE THE FUN: The Power are 6-4 on doubleheader days this season. West Virginia split a twinbill at Asheville on May 2, split a day-night twinbill on May 25 with Kannapolis, took two from Rome last Friday, winning 6-1 and 9-0, split two with Augusta on Tuesday, and split Friday's action. The seven inning game last night does not count as a doubleheader game.

BYE BYE BIRDIES: West Virginia and Delmarva have five more games against each other this season, but will not meet until the final weekend of the year. With a win today, the Shorebirds guarantee at least a split of this 16-game season set. Delmarva leads the all-time series 52-50, but the Power still have the edge at Appalachian Power Park, having won 31 of 57 meetings at home since 2005.

MOTORIN: The Power will hit the road after today's game with a trip to Greensboro and Lakewood over the next seven days. West Virginia is 1-5 this season against the Hoppers with seven games remaining against them (including four on this trip). The Power are 8-4 against the BlueClaws in 2012 with a total of seven games left against Lakewood). This trip is the last long road jaunt this season. The longest trip remaining after the next seven days is only four games long (Kannapolis from August 16-19).

NEW LEADER: For the first time since April 9, someone other than Alen Hanson leads West Virginia in batting average. after the fifth game of the year, Jodaneli Carvajal was batting .321 to Hanson's .364. Since that point, Hanson has had the best average on the team among qualifiers. After the completion of Friday's second game and thanks to a four hit game, Gregory Polanco leaped over Hanson with a .326 average. Heading into play today, Polanco is hitting .323 to Hanson's .322.

RELIEVER SWAP: The Pittsburgh Pirates transferred Porfirio Lopez to the West Virginia roster from Bradenton on Thursday and shifted Clario Perez to State College. Lopez spent a portion of the 2011 season on the Power roster and has made four relief appearances this season over two stints in the South Atlantic League (1-1 with a 7.94 ERA). Perez went 1-1 with a 5.84 ERA over 16 appearances with two saves for West Virginia this season.

PROMO CHECK- AUGUST 2 & 3: The Power will hold two BIG 12 promotional night's during the next homestand. August 2 is NFL Night featuring an appearance by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, while August 3 is WVU night featuring appearances by West Virginia University Legends including Pat White.

POWER POINTS: Jose Osuna has hit ten home runs this season, eight of which have been on the road... Eric Avila has at least one hit in seven straight games... Pittsburgh added Raul Fortunato to the Power roster and placed him on the disabled list, though the outfielder is not actually with the club.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat Miami 5-1 at PNC Park. The Buccos scored four in the fourth without the benefit of a base hit to help A.J. Burnett move to 11-3... Indianapolis split a doubleheader with Toledo... Altoona swept a doubleheader with Erie, winning 5-1 and 1-0... Bradenton beat Tampa 5-3... State College knocked off Williamsport 5-2. the teams will play a doubleheader today.
