POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost game one of a doubleheader to Delmarva by a 3-2 final on Friday. The Power held a 1-0 lead after two and a 2-0 advantage after three, but the Shorebirds tied the game in the fourth. In the top of the fifth, Zack Dodson surrendered a solo home run to Sammie Starr that gave Delmarva the lead for good. Dodson (4-6) pitched five innings and struck out five, but was saddled with the loss. West Virginia went 2-11 with runners in scoring position.

A GAME AND A HALF TONIGHT: The second game of last night's doubleheader between West Virginia and Delmarva was suspended in the middle of the third inning and willbe resumed at 6:05 pm tonight. The Power will be batting and have a 7-1 lead thanks in large part to a ten batter, five hit, five run second inning. This game will be completed to seven innings and then the teams will play a seven inning game for the contest that was originally scheduled for Saturday.

DOUBLE THE FUN: The Power are 5-4 on doubleheader days this season. West Virginia split a twinbill at Asheville on May 2, split a day-night twinbill on May 25 with Kannapolis, took two from Rome last Friday, winning 6-1 and 9-0, prior to Tuesday's split at Augusta and the loss in the first half of yesterday's action.

100 TO 101: Delmarva's game one win last night came in the 100th all-time meeting between the teams. The Shorebirds also win the very first meeting with a 4-2 victory on May 9, 2005 in Salisbury, MD. Delmarva now leads the all-time set 51-49 with six and a half game left between the Power and Birds this season. West Virginia is 30-25 at home in this series.

SUCCESSFUL SOUTHERN SWING: West Virginia went 5-3 on their recent eight-game trip, marking the first winning road trip this season. The Power won seven road games during the entire first half and have already won nine times away from Appalachian Power Park during 17 second half road games. West Virginia has 18 road contests left this season, including seven on the next road trip that starts Monday in Greensboro.

RELIEVER SWAP: The Pittsburgh Pirates transferred Porfirio Lopez to the West Virginia roster from Bradenton on Thursday and shifted Clario Perez to State College. Lopez spent a portion of the 2011 season on the Power roster and has made four relief appearances this season over two stints in the South Atlantic League (1-1 with a 7.94 ERA). Perez went 1-1 with a 5.84 ERA over 16 appearances with two saves for West Virginia this season.

PROMO CHECK- AUGUST 2 & 3: The Power will hold two BIG 12 promotional night's during the next homestand. August 2 is NFL Night featuring an appearance by the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, while August 3 is WVU night featuring appearances by West Virginia University Legends including Pat White.

POWER POINTS: Jose Osuna has hit ten home runs this season, eight of which have been on the road... Eric Avila has at least one hit in seven straight games... Pittsburgh added Raul Fortunato to the Power roster and placed him on the disabled list, though the outfielder is not actually with the club.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh rallied for a 4-3 win over Miami at PNC Park. Kevin Correia earned the win and Joel Hanrahan notched his 27th save... Indianapolis gave up three runs in the first in a 3-2 loss at Toledo... Altoona and Erie tried to play a doubleheader but only managed one game Friday with the Curve falling 3-0... Bradenton slipped past Tampa 3-2. Dan Grovatt had a triple, a home run, and two runs scored in the win... State College's game at Williamsport was postponed.
