POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 5-2 in 10 innings against Hagerstown last night. The Power took a 2-0 lead in the third inning, but the Suns scored twice in the seventh off Rinku Singh. Neither team could plate a run over the game's final two innings, but Hagerstown scored three against Zac Fuesser in the 10th on four hits and two walks. West Virginia was set down in order in the bottom of the tenth.

BONUS BASEBALL BLUES: West Virginia is now 1-5 in extra inning games. The Power have fallen in 10 innings four times and in 11 once. The lone winwas on a walk-off wild pitch on April 13 against Greenville.

FOUR IN A ROW: The Power have lost four straight games at Appalachian Power Park dating back to June 5 against Delmarva. This is the longest home losing streak this season.

HOMER HAPPY: Thursday's game marked the first time this season that West Virginia hit three home runs in a game. The Power offense had hit two home runs in a single game a total of seven times this year.

HERE COME THE SUNS: West Virginia closes the first half of the 2012 season the same way it began the year; a series against Hagerstown. The Power trail in the all-time series 55-48, but are 23-19 against the Suns at Appalachian Power Park since the start of the 2005 campaign.

EVERYDAY WE'RE SHUFFLIN: Pittsburgh made a series of moves on Thursday, adding two familiar names and two fresh faces to the Power roster. Eric Avila spent the entire 2011 season with West Virginia and had played four games in a Power jersey this season. Wes Freeman has played 29 games for West Virginia over the course of the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Taylor Lewis and Ashley Ponce are making their South Atlantic League debuts after having spent the majority of the 2011 campaign on the State College Spikes roster.

ALUMNI WATCH: Hunter Strickland was promoted from Bradenton to Altoona on Friday and made his Double-A debut last night. Strickland was acquired from Boston in 2009 and went on to author one of the best moments in Power history. The right-hander combined with Diego Moreno on July 27, 2009 to no-hit the Charleston RiverDogs. Since pitching for the Power as recently as the 2010 season, Strickland missed time with injuries, but pitched well this year, going 2-2 with a 2.98 ERA for the Marauders.

THREE STARS HEADED TO ASG: The South Atlantic League announced the 2012 All-Star Game rosters last week and three Power players were selected, including two starters. Alen Hanson will start at second base despite the fact that he has not played there once this season, while Gregory Polanco was selected to start in right field. Like Hanson, Polanco has not played the position he is starting in at all this season. Matt Benedict was chosen as one of the 11 pitchers to represent the Northern Division team in the game to be played at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston, SC, on July 19.

PROMO UPDATE- JULY 4: West Virginia's next BIG 12 promotional night is July 4 at 7:05 pm against Lakewood. The team will host appearances by Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, and Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba. The evening will end with a post game fireworks show.

POWER POINTS: Former Power players Evan Chambers and Drew Maggi were promoted by the Pirates on Thursday from Bradenton to Altoona... Alen Hanson and Gregory Polanco became the first Power players to reach double digit home runs since the 2010 season...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost a 2-0 final at Cleveland... Indianapolis lost 6-1 at Charlotte... Altoona lost 4-3 at Binghamton... Bradenton is idle for the Florida State League All-Star break.
