Suns Lose in Extras, Settle for Second Place

Charleston, WV - The Hagerstown Suns (42-26) were edged, 2-1, by the West Virginia Power (22-47) at Appalachian Power Stadium on Saturday night. With the Greensboro Grasshoppers having won their game versus Charleston earlier in the evening, Greensboro secured their spot as the first half champions in the South Atlantic League's Northern Division.

Suns starting pitcher Christian Meza ended his outing with a no-decision, allowing one run on five hits over five innings. Reliever Greg Holt (1-1) ended up with the loss.

Power starting pitcher Zack Von Rosenberg also did not factor in a decision. He pitched 5.1 innings allowing one run on four hits, two walks and five strike outs. Clario Perez (1-1) was credited with the win out of the bullpen. First baseman Jose Osuna drove in the game winning run with an RBI fielder's choice in the tenth inning.

The Suns will conclude the first half of the season against West Virginia on Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. Hagerstown will face the Power's RHP Nick Kingham (1-4, 5.57). Hagerstown will send RHP Alex Meyer (6-3, 3.31) to the mound.
