TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia was tripped up 3-2 on Tuesday by Lexington. The Legends took a 1-0 lead off Zack Dodson in the bottom of the first and that lead held until the seventh inning. The Power scored twice in the seventh to take a 2-1 lead, but the Legends regained the advantage for good in the bottom of the inning on a two-run home run from Drew Muren. Zac Fuesser took the loss after allowing the home run.

SCORING BREAKDOWN: West Virginia has allowed nearly 100 more runs than it has scored so far this season. The Power have plated 203 runs this year. The club's best inning for runs had been the fifth (33) while the seventh has seen the fewest (14 including two last night). Comparatively, West Virginia has allowed 302 runs over 45 games. Teams have been the most productive against the Power in the third inning (49 runs allowed) and the least productive in the fourth and eighth innings (24 runs allowed in each). The Power have surrendered 38 first inning runs this season, including one last night.

REVISED ROTATION: Robby Rowland will move into the rotation and start tonight's series finale at Lexington. The right-hander, acquired by Pittsburgh from Arizona on March 31 for Brett Lorin, has started 28 of the 29 games pitched during his professional career with the lone relief outing coming three days ago at Greenville. As a starter, Rowland is 6-13 with a 7.01 ERA (28 starts with Missoula in the Pioneer League).

TWINBILL ON THE HORIZON: MAY 25: The Power will play a day-night doubleheader on May 25 against Kannapolis. The first game will startat 11:05 am and will be the final Grand Slam School Day of the season. The 7:05 pm nightcap will serve as a Hometown Heros game with a special discounted ticket package available for local law enforcement, fire, and life safety personnel.

STREAKY SLIDES: The Power snapped a six game losing streak with Monday's victory at Lexington. Of West Virginia's 30 defeats this season, 28 of them have come during some sort of losing streak. The Power lost five straight during the opening road trip of the season, seven in a row from April 16 through 24, three in a row April 27-29, a seven game run from May 5 to 12, and this recent six game streak.

POWER V. LEGENDS: West Virginia has played Lexington more than any other team dating back to the 2005 season. The Power lead the all-time series 74-68, but have only gone 34-37 at Appalachian Power Park against the Legends since the stadium opened. West Virginia holds a 40-31 mark at Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The Power and Legends will meet in Lexington this evening, for two series in June (one at home and one on the road), and for a four-game set in Lexington in August.

MEMORIAL DAY: The Power will host the Lakewood BlueClaws on Monday, May 28. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:05 pm.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 26: The Power will host a Redneck Night on May 26 as part of the Big 12 promotional package. The game will feature an appearance by the World's Strongest Redneck, the Cowboy Monkey Rodeo, and a ceremonial "First Hitch" wedding after the game. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a camouflage Power baseball hat.

POWER POINTS: In 45 games this season, Power pitchers have walked 174 batters. In 2011, West Virginia pitchers had accumulated 174 walks over the season's first 80 games.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh dropped a 3-2 final to R.A. Dickey and the New York Mets on Tuesday and played their series finale earlier today... Indianapolis beat Buffalo 6-3 for its third straight victory... Altoona did not play... Bradenton beat Lakeland 6-3, backing Jameson Tallion in the win.
