11th Inning Single Gives BlueClaws 3-2 Win

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - For the third time this season the BlueClaws walk-off with an extra-innings win at FirstEnergy Park, 3-2 in 11 innings over the Delmarva Shorebirds.

Harold Martinez singled home Gauntlett Eldemire with two outs in the 11th inning to send the 6,028 fans home happy on Education Day at the ballpark. Eldemire pinch-ran for Kelly Dugan with one out with runners on 2nd and 1st base and advanced to 3rd base when Aaron Altherr popped out to shallow foul territory down the first base line. Martinez blooped a single in front of a diving Connor Narron to score Eldemire standing up for the victory.

Mike Nesseth tossed four innings of shutout, one-hit ball for his team-leading fourth win of the season. He is now 4-1 with a sub-4.00 ERA this season. The BlueClaws have now won four consecutive games for the first time this season and have improved their record at home this season to 11-9.

Lakewood and Hagerstown commence a four-day, six-game series Thursday night with a double-header. The BlueClaws will send Ethan Stewart (0-4, 3.40) to the mound in Game 1 and Mario Hollands (0-1, 4.91) to the mound in Game 2. First pitch of Game 1 is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. with the first pitch of Game 2 coming 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 1.
