Legends Blank Power Behind Ordosgoitti

(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Luis Ordosgoitti pitched seven and one third shutout innings to lead the Lexington Legends to a 4-0 win over the West Virginia Power Wednesday night.

Lexington took the lead in the third inning. Mike Kvasnicka led off with a single, advanced to second on a wild pitch and to third on a groundout. After Chan Moon reached on an error,

Delino DeShields Jr. pushed a bunt single to the right side of the infield, driving home Kvasnicka.

The Legends added another run in the fourth. Matt Duffy reached second on an error by third baseman Kirk Singer, moved to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Drew Muren's sacrifice fly to right field.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Legends took a 3-0 advantage when Jordan Scott tripled and scored on a single by Duffy.

The Legends scored their final run in the seventh. With two out, Zach Johnson walked and scored when Duffy doubled to left-center.

Ordosgoitti (1-1) got the win, allowing just four hits, while striking out four batters. Murilo Gouvea finished the eighth inning and Dayan Diaz pitched a scoreless ninth for Lexington.

Power starter Robby Rowland (0-1) took the loss.

Lexington embarks on a four game road trip, and will take on the Hickory Crawdads Thursday night. First pitch in Hickory N.C. is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
