POWER REPLAY: West Virginia fell 11-9 to Greensboro on Saturday night. The Power held an 8-0 lead after four innings, but the Grasshoppers rallied back with two grand slams, including one by James Wooster in the ninth inning to give Greensboro the lead for good. Jordan Cooper was charged with a blown save and took the loss. Five different Power players had multi-hit games in the defeat.

ENNIS RETURNS: Justin Ennis was added back to the West Virginia roster on Saturday and pitched last night. The southpaw made two appearances during the first week of the season but was transferred back to Extended Spring Training on April 11. To make room for Ennis, reliever Trent Stevenson was transferred to the State College Spikes roster.

STREAKY STORIES: Junior Sosa saw his seven game hitting streak snapped Friday night with an 0-3 performance against the Sand Gnats. Chris Lashmet's seven game hitting streak came to and end last night. The infielder hit .364 during his last seven. Jose Osuna now has the longest active streak of any player on the roster at six straight.

HOPPERS IN TOWN: The Power host the Greensboro Grasshoppers at Appalachian Power Park this afternoon. West Virginia leads the all-time series with Greensboro 56-39 dating back tin 2005, though the Grasshoppers won the 2011 series 10-9. The Power hold a 30-18 edge at home in this series and lead 26-21 at NewBridge Bank Park. These teams will meet next weekend in North Carolina as well.

TWINBILL ON THE HORIZON: Once West Virginia's series with Greensboro ends on Monday, the team will have a day off on Tuesday and will travel to Asheville to start a four game, three day series. The Power and Tourists will play two on May 2 to make up the April 18 postponed game that was scheduled to be played at Appalachian Power Park. Game one starts at 5:35 pm Wednesday.

STOPPED AT 16: Alen Hanson's hitting streak was stopped at 16 games with an 0-4 performance on Friday night. During this league-best streak, Hanson hit at a .429 clip with 30 hits in 70 at bats.

BELL DL'D: Josh Bell was placed on the Power's disabled list on Thursday. The outfielder injured his left knee on Tuesday night in the series opener with Savannah. The 19 year-old outfielder was batting .274 in 15 games with one home run and 11 runs batted in at the time of the injury. Bell had surgery on the meniscus in his left knee on Friday and will travel to Bradenton for rehab. He is expected to make a full recovery this season and should play again in 2012 per the Pirates official report on the surgery.

MESA JOINS POWER: Carlos Mesa was added to West Virginia's roster on Thursday when Josh Bell was placed on the disabled list. Mesa was signed by Pittsburgh as a non-drafted free agent on March 23, 2011, and spent the entire season with State College last year. The outfielder hit .250 with the Spikes over 37 games and was named a mid-season All-Star in the New York-Penn League. Mesa's first SAL hit was a third inning home run last night off of Greensboro's Adam Conley in his second at bat.

PROMO UPDATE- MAY 10: The Power will host their first Thirsty Thursday Concert Series on May 10 at Appalachian Power Park. Rubber Soul, a Beatles tribute band, will perform immediately following West Virginia's series opener against the Charleston RiverDogs.

POWER POINT: Alen Hanson leads West Virginia with 13 multi-hit games this season.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh doubled up at Atlanta 4-2. ... Indianapolis shutout Durham 2-0... Altoona's game at Akron was rained out and the teams will play a doubleheader today... Bradenton lost 7-2 at Jupiter. Colton Cain took the loss for the Marauders.
