Rome, GA - The Rome Braves lost to the Kannapolis Intimidators 8-5 Sunday afternoon in front of 2,685 fans. The Intimidators opened up the scoring with four runs in the first inning. Rangel Ravelo and Leighton Pangilinan both singled to bring in a run. Pangilinan would later score on a throwing error, and Martin Medina smacked a two RBI double to make it a 4-0 Kannapolis lead. They would add four more runs in the top of the fourth, highlighted by an RBI triple by Ravelo to pad their lead 8-0. Rome got on the board in the bottom of the inning as Elmer Reyes (1) homered to left-centerfield for the 8-1 score.

The Braves tried to rally in the seventh inning, scoring five runs on three hits thanks to an RBI single by Cory Brownsten and a single to drive in two runs by Felix Marte for an 8-5 game, but that was as close as they would get. Kannapolis would shut down the Braves bats and prevail for the 8-5 final.

LHP Jarrett Casey (3-1) recorded the win for Kannapolis. Casey allowed one run, four hits and struck out two in five innings of work for the Intimidators. RHP A.J. Holland (1-4) would get the loss for Rome.
