TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

LH Zach Dodson (2-3, 3.12) vs. LH Ervis Manzanillo (7-5, 4.92)

Manzanillo: Allowed 4 R on 8 H with 5 K and 2 BB over 5.0 IP in 7/30 ND vs. WVP (5-4 Claws in 10)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia beat Greensboro 4-1 on Thursday night. Zac Fuesser and Kevin Decker combined to limit the Grasshoppers to one run on eight hits; a solo home run by Marcel Ozuna in the fourth when the Power already led 3-0. Mel Rojas Jr. and Drew Maggi each drove in two runs, and five different players had two hits each as West Virginia banged out 14 total, including 13 singles.

RETURN OF A ZACH: Zach Dodson was promoted to the Power roster earlier today from State College. Dodson began the season in the Power rotation, making seven starts before being transferred off the roster in a paper move on May 13. Dodson went 2-3 over his seven starts with a 3.12 ERA. The southpaw suffered a broken left hand in mid-May and was placed on the Power's Disabled List. He began a rehab assignment in the GCL on June 29, made three appearances, and then made four more with the Spikes in the NYPL. Eliecer Navarro was transferred to State College to clear a roster spot.

SHUTOUT STATS: West Virginia pitchers worked their tenth shutout of the season Wednesday night to match the club record. The 2006 club recorded ten shutouts as well while the Power were still affiliated with Milwaukee. Since the association with the Pirates began in 2009, the Power have pitched 25 shutouts over two plus years, compared to 29 during the four year Brewer stint.

FIST BUMPING WEEKEND: West Virginia travels to Lakewood to open a four game series tonight. The BlueClaws hold the all-time advantage in this match-up with a 50-39 record against the Power, and the Power trail in the series on the road, going 15-20 at FirstEnergy Park since 2005. The Power and BlueClaws will meet a total of 19 times this season after playing 16 times last year, with the series being the final meeting of the clubs in 2011.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: The final few weeks of the 2011 season will see the Power see-saw between home and road series. after this four game set in Lakewood, West Virginia returns home for four against Charleston. On August 14, the Power open a four game series in Kannapolis. Four days later, they'll host Delmarva for four. After a four day trip to Greensboro starting August 22, the Power open their final homestand of the season; a five game run against Lexington beginning on August 26. The last road trip sends West Virginia to Delmarva over Labor Day weekend.

LONG TIME COMING: Andy Vasquez's first inning home run last Friday was his first since May 14 against Kannapolis. The utility player went 210 at bats over 56 games between home runs, but did manage to hit six of his league-best ten triples. Elias Diaz's solo home run in the second inning Sunday was his first since May 19, spanning 44 games and 159 at bats.

VERGE OF HISTORY: Rogelio Noris has 24 career home runs for West Virginia over a season and a half in a Power jersey. Noris has matched Stephen Chapman for the most home runs in any player's Power career. Chapman hit a single-season record 24 home runs in a Power uniform in 2007.

POWER POINTS: Dan Grovatt has a nine-game hitting streak heading into his next game... Victor Black had an ERA of 0.00 after ten appearances in May and June. Since July 1, Black's earned run average is 7.82... West Virginia's Wednesday win was the fourth this season when scoring just one run (4-10). The 2010 club went 0-13 in games when they scored just one run.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh fell 7-6 to the Cubs as Chicago finished off a four game sweep... Indianapolis beat Toledo 4-3... Altoona was blanked 3-0 by Binghamton... Bradenton beat Fort Myers 9-3.. State College edged Vermont 1-0.
