(Charleston, WV- May 12, 2015) - The West Virginia Power defeated the Charleston RiverDogs 10-3 on Tuesday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park in the series finale. With the victory, the Power (18-13) finished the homestand with another winning record and earned a series split with the RiverDogs (19-13).

In the first, Charleston tallied a run but West Virginia tied the game in the bottom half of the frame. Pablo Reyes scored on an RBI single from Chase Simpson to make it a 1-1 game.

Elvis Escobar gave the Power the lead in the second inning and the Power never trailed at any point following the inning. After Kawika Emsley-Pai led off the inning with a single, he advanced to second on a wild pitch, third on a groundout, and scored on Escobar's infield single.

The Power expanded their lead thanks to a three-run fifth. Pablo Reyes reached on a single and stole second. Jordan Luplow followed with a lengthy at bat that ended on a hit-by-pitch to put a couple men on. A pitch then hit Michael Suchy to load the bases. Following a strikeout, Tito Polo was hit by a Joey Maher pitch to make it a 3-1 Power lead. Charleston then made a pitching change and Dillon McNamara walked Emsley-Pai to make it 4-2 and Tyler Filliben grounded into an RBI fielder's choice.

West Virginia's biggest inning was a five-run sixth. With one out, Reyes and Luplow hit back-to-back doubles with the latter driving in the former. Suchy then drew a walk and Simpson tallied his second RBI of the game with a single to put runners on the corners. Polo hit a ground-rule double to left that plated Suchy and moved Simpson to third. A wild pitch scored Simpson and Polo later crossed home on a balk.

Power reliever Sam Street (1-0) earned his first SAL win after he tossed 3.2 innings in place of John Sever who went 4.1 innings and surrendered one run on four hits. RiverDogs starter Joey Maher (1-2) suffered the loss.
