Ports Announce 2010 Regular Season Schedule

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports, reigning champions of the California League, are excited to unveil their 2010 regular season schedule. All baseball fans are invited to follow the Ports next season, as the organization will embark on their 61st season of professional baseball and their sixth season at Banner Island Ballpark.

The Ports will begin and end the season on the road in 2010. Thursday, April 8 will be Opening Day for the California League, and the Ports will be kicking off the season at Visalia that day. The Ports will open the season at home on Thursday, April 15 against Visalia.

For the first time in several seasons, the Ports will be home on July 4, taking on the Modesto Nuts. The organization is highly excited to celebrate the nation's birthday by hosting an Independence Day Celebration at the ballpark.

"We anticipate another great year of Ports baseball in 2010, and are excited to inform our fans about the schedule for next season," said Ports President and General Manager Pat Filippone. "We've had a great season in 2009, from introducing upgrades to the stadium to welcoming our one-millionth fan in ballpark history. We look forward to presenting our fans with more fun, affordable family entertainment in 2010."

The Ports will have nine home games in April, 16 home dates in May, 13 games at home in June, 17 games at home in July and 15 home games in August. Among the home dates are 31 weekend games, and 39 weekday games. Game times for the 2010 season will be released in December, following the Baseball Winter Meetings.

Ports fans will be excited to see that several great rivalry match-ups are scheduled to be hosted at Banner Island Ballpark this season. Fans can catch their favorite Oakland A's affiliate take on their archrival, the San Jose Giants, at home from May 4-6, May 26-29, July 7-9, and in the final series of the season from August 27-30. Fans can cheer on the Ports as the club competes against neighboring Modesto at Banner Island Ballpark from May 11-13, June 11-13, July 4-6, July 30-August 1, and August 24-26.

Season tickets for the 2010 season are on sale now. Fans can purchase them at the Ports ticket office, by phone at (209) 644-1900, or online at www.stocktonports.com. Current Ports season ticket holders can take advantage of an "early bird" sale, which lasts until Tuesday, September 15, on season ticket prices for 2010.

Season ticket holders can enjoy several great benefits, including discounted ticket pricing, designated seating, a flexible ticket exchange policy, the first right to purchase playoff and special events tickets, and invitations to exclusive season ticket holder events and parties.

The Ports ticket office will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday during the off-season.
