Portland Pirates News Release


The Pirates next home game is on Saturday, March 3rd against the Manchester Monarchs at 7:05 p.m. Every Saturday is Hockey Night in Portland! Fans in attendance will receive Portland Pirates mini sticks courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Plus fans can stop by the Time Warner Cable table to enter for a chance to win an HDTV! The Maine State Lottery Spin Wheel will also be at the game. Fans can purchase $10 worth of lottery tickets for an opportunity to spin the wheel to win great lottery prizes.

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for the "Shirts Off Their Backs" raffle that will be held on Fan Appreciation Night on April 15th. Tickets will be available in the main lobby and cost $1 each or 15 for $10. The proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Portland Pirates Foundation.

Pirates Asking Fans: "Let us know what you think"

The Portland Pirates have launched a 10-day online conversation and promotion with the community seeking feedback that will help refine its business plan for the 2007-08 season. The eight question survey includes two free tickets to a Pirates' home game next October at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The survey and promotional offer will be posted online through March 3rd.

Portland Pirates Posters

The Portland Pirates have teamed up with Port City Life Magazine to bring you a limited edition poster series of your Portland Pirates as photographed by the magazine last season. The Portland Pirates posters are available at all Pirates home games at the merchandise stands on the concourse and in the main lobby or to get your poster today, call the Pirates at (207) 828-4665. All the proceeds from the sale of the posters will benefit the Portland Pirates Foundation.

Booster Club Road Trip!

Saturday/Sunday, March 24th/25th (overnight)

Take a road trip and show your support for the Pirates! This road trip includes bus fare and tickets to two road games. You are responsible for calling the Bridgeport Holiday Inn at (203) 334-1234 and booking and paying for your room by the deadline. You must stay at this hotel with the rest of the group. Room Rate is $94.08 per room for a King or Double plus room. When booking, identify that you are with the Portland Pirates Booster Club. Club members will receive a discounted rate for the trip totaling $80 per person; non-members can purchase tickets for $105 per person. The deadline for registration and payment in full is Sunday, March 4th at the game. Check out the 50/50 table at any game upcoming home game for more information.

LATEST PIRATES NEWS

During the second intermission of last night's game the Portland Pirates, Shipyard Brewing Company and Hannaford presented a check to the National Kidney Foundation on behalf of the Portland Pirates Foundation as part of Winter Getaway Contest. This season, during an eight week promotion during November and December, the three organizations helped raise $2,200 for the National Kidney Foundation. The Portland Pirates Foundation made a $500 donation to the cause.

Pirates forward Joe Moztko is the Pirates/WJAB Player of the Week. This is the second time this season Motzko has earned the honor. Motzko contributed 3 points (3 goals, 0 assists) this past week and helped the Pirates earn four points in the Pirates four games. Motzko will join "The Morning Jab" on WJAB 1440AM/95.5FM with Shoe and Joe on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Following the interview, fans will have a chance to win free Pirates tickets!
