WICHITA, KS- Wingnuts left fielder Greg Porter has been named the American Association Batter of the Week for August 3rd through August 9th.

Already having won two other Batter of the Week Awards as well as Batter of the Month honors for June, Porter hit .440 in six games last week with three home runs, seven RBIs, and seven runs scored. The Kelly, TX resident has hit six home runs in his last 15 games, including a game-changing three-run home run on Sunday that gave the Wingnuts a 4-2 lead in an eventual 4-3 rubber match win over Sioux City.

Porter's power streak ties him with teammate Kelly Hunt for the league lead. Porter leads the league in batting at .380 and ranks fourth with 64 RBI. Porter also leads the league in hits (113), on-base percentage (.464), and slugging percentage (.613). Over his last 59 games, dating back to early June, Porter is 96 for 228 (.421).
