Bakersfield Condors News Release
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, had a flurry of roster changes today, with two players heading out and two coming in. D Sasha Pokulok has been signed to a Professional Try-Out contract (PTO) by the San Antonio Rampage and F Matt Pope has been reassigned to the Manitoba Moose. Also, the Condors signed D Ken Morin to an Amateur Try-Out contract (ATO) and F Josh Jasek-Jepson to a standard contract.
Pokulok, 23, signs his second AHL PTO of the season, and only recently returned to the Condors lineup after spending several weeks with Springfield. He has 28 points (11g-17a) in 39 games with Bakersfield, ranking second among defensemen in goals and points. Pokulok added five assists in seven games with the Falcons. He joins fellow ex-Condors teammates D Stu Bickel, C MacGregor Sharp and G Justin Pogge on the Rampage roster.
Pope, 25, is reassigned by Vancouver to the Moose, where he has spent most of the season. The second-year forward spent six games in Bakersfield during his recent stint, recording eight points (4g-4a) and 23 shots on goal, with a +2 rating. Pope is joining the Moose on a road trip in Texas, where they are slated, coincidentally, to play Friday against San Antonio.
Morin, 25, played this season at Royal Military College, recording 2g-7a-9pts in 29 games, leading all RMC defensemen in scoring. He spent the previous four seasons at McGill University in Montreal, serving as team captain his senior season and racking up 42 points (6g-36a) in 98 collegiate games, while appearing in three championship games with the Redmen. Morin (right) is currently pursuing his master's degree at RMC.
Jepson, 25, signs his first professional contract with the Condors, having last skated at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. The Vegas native also played two seasons in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League alongside fellow Condor Adam Naglich in Victoria.
ON THE DOCKET:
The Condors host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Friday and Saturday at Rabobank Arena before heading to Ontario on Sunday.
Friday's game features a visit from NFL QB and Condorstown native David Carr, sponsored by Bright House Networks, KERI 1410 AM and Junior Condors. He will sign autographs and pose for pictures throughout the night, and after the game he will speak to fans about his faith and the role it has played in his career successes. On Saturday, the amazing Quick Change returns by popular demand to perform their remarkable rapid clothes-changing act during the intermissions. Quick Change appears courtesy of ABC23 and KERN 1180.
