Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, the Reading Fire Department, and the Reading Police Department take this opportunity to remind fans of this weekend's "Battle of the Badges V" presented by FirstStates Financial Services. The hockey double-header will kick off with the fifth annual showdown between the Reading Fire and Police Departments on Sunday, February 28, at 2:15 pm. The ECHL hockey action takes over after that as the Royals join battle against the Johnstown Chiefs with the opening face-off scheduled for 5:05 pm. One ticket gains entry into both games, and a portion of every ticket sold will go to the Battle of the Badges Scholarship Fund established to benefit the children of firefighters and police officers.
On Sunday, please note that doors to the Sovereign Center will open at 1:30 pm. The parking garage at Cherry/Franklin and Sixth Streets will be opened at 1:00 pm, and the Reading Parking Authority has graciously agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds from parking to the Battle of the Badges Scholarship Fund.
The Royals take the ice again on Friday night (February 26, 2010 @ 7:05 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers travel to the Sovereign Center. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show at 6:35 pm.
