Calla Reassigned; Beckford-Tseu Recalled

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager Craig Brush in coordination with Everblades coach Malcolm Cameron announced that forward Brady Calla has been reassigned by the Florida Panthers (NHL). Goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been recalled to the Florida Panthers and defenseman AJ Thelen has been placed on the 3-day injured reserve.

Calla, 21, has played in four games for the Everblades this season and been held scoreless. He began the season in Rochester (AHL) and appeared in 32 games with the Amerks and scored a goal and six points with 14 penalty minutes. The Kelowna, British Columbia native was recalled by the Florida Panthers during the start of the Olympic break on February 14.

Beckford Tseu, 25, has started 12 straight games for Florida and posted an overall record of 10-6-4 with a 3.11 goals against average and .904 save percentage. His 10 wins this season are a team high. Two of his 10 victories have come through shutout performances. In addition, the Toronto, Ontario native has appeared in six games with Rochester (AHL) and posted a 0-4-0 record with a 4.66 goals against average and .869 save percentage. The six-year pro makes his first recall to the Florida Panthers this season.

Defenseman AJ Thelen has been placed on the three-day injured reserve. Thelen suffered a concussion in the Everblades 4-2 victory over South Carolina on February 13 on the road. The first round selection (12th) of the Minnesota Wild in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft has appeared in 43 games with the ‘Blades this season and scored eight goals and 14 assists for 22 points and posted 52 penalty minutes. Thelen is +5 on the season and has five power-play goals.
