Plumbers & Pipefitters buy out stadium for July 7
June 30, 2009 - Frontier League (FL)
Rockford RiverHawks News Release
LOVES PARK, Ill. - Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 23 is offering Stateline families an opportunity to watch professional baseball on their tab.
The Rockford RiverHawks announced on Tuesday that the union had purchased all available seats in Road Ranger Stadium for the July 7 game, scheduled for 7:05 p.m. against Traverse City.
"We are proud to sponsor the corporate buyout," Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 23 business manager Darryll Russell said. "We are happy to be able to support our community and offer families the opportunity to see a professional baseball game. We hope that everyone enjoys the game."
In order to claim tickets from the union, fans must visit the stadium box office in person. Ticket orders are limited to four per person. Fans are strongly advised to order in advance, as previous corporate buyouts have resulted in standing room-only crowds.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 17th season this summer. The RiverHawks host the 2009 Frontier League All-Star Game at 7:05 p.m. on July 15. Advertising and season-ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com. Most games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380, and on the team website.
