Central Islip, N.Y. - During Saturday's day/night doubleheader between the Long Island Ducks and Bridgeport Bluefish, avid Ducks fan Kathy Fels won a brand new Panasonic HDTV in the Plesser's Great TV Giveaway. The Amityville native selected the lucky remote that turned on the television during the contest's final round and, after realizing she had won, was nearly speechless.
"I can't believe it! This is great," she said, unable to hold back tears. "I won't be watching the TV tonight though; I have another Ducks game to go to!"
Fels was one of ten semi-finalists who took the field prior to game one for some TV trivia. After three rounds of questions, she was one of five who had not answered a question incorrectly, earning a spot in the final round. Following the game, the finalists took the field once again to determine the lucky winner, courtesy of Plesser's.
The Long Island Ducks are in their 11th Season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. They have filled their ballpark to over 100 percent capacity for 10 consecutive seasons and are one of the most successful minor league franchises in the country.
