
Playeros' Rally Comes Up Short in 7-5 Loss

Erie hung on Friday night for a 7-5 win over Playeros de Harrisburg. It was the second straight night Harrisburg had a ninth inning rally fall short. Harrisburg did score twice in the ninth and had the tying run at the plate when the game ended. Erie took 6-1 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning when Harrisburg tallied twice in the eighth to set themselves up for the ninth inning rally.
Ronald Herrera started and went 3.2 innings and took the loss, his fifth on the season. He allowed three runs on six hits with all three runs coming with two outs and no one on base. Francys Peguero went 2.1 innings and walked in a run and allowed two more with two outs in the fifth inning. Edgar Garcia tossed a scoreless seventh inning. Brian Gonzalez allowed two runs in 1.1 innings. Zach Brzykcy retired the final two outs.
Jake Alu had three hits including his ninth home run and he scored twice. Gilbert Lara also had three hits, one a double. John Nogowski and Wilson Garcia both had two hits, and both doubled. Garcia also drove in a run. Brady Lindsly doubled, drove in a run, and scored a run.
Harrisburg has dropped nine of ten games to the SeaWolves this season. Harrisburg has not committed an error in the series. Playeros de Harrisburg went 3-for-12 with runners in scoring position and stranded ten runners overall. Six of the seven runs scored by Erie came with two outs.
