
Reading Tops Richmond 4-2 in the Tenth

Reading Fightin Phils News Release
The Reading Fightin Phils won an exciting contest 4-2 over the Richmond Flying Squirrels in the 10th inning. Brian Marconi recorded the win, while Mike Adams notched his first save. The series is tied at two wins apiece.
After a pitcher's duel through six innings, Richmond broke through first in the seventh with an RBI double from Brandon Martorano.
The Fightins tied it up and took the lead in the eighth. Kevin Vicuna singled to reach and moved over on Jonathan Guzman's sac bunt. Simon Muzziotti walked and an RBI single from Johan Rojas brought in the first run to make it 1-1. Wendell Rijo followed him with a base knock of his own to bring in Muzziotti for a one run lead.
In the bottom half, the Flying Squirrels tied it off of Diego Rincones RBI double.
With a 2-2 after ninth, the two teams went to extras at The Diamond.
Vicuna started at second as the placed runner. Guzman laid down another sac bunt and Vicuna scored and he moved to second on a throwing error by Richmond's catcher. On a line drive from Aldrem Corredor, Guzman tagged and went to third. Rojas doubled to bring him in and the R-Phils led 4-2.
Richmond had the same placed runner in the bottom half but went down in order to end the game.
Bubby Rossman got the spot start in a bullpen game. The righty went three innings, his longest outing of the season, keeping it clean and striking out four. He did make a throwing error
Billy Sullivan allowed a hit in the fourth but stranded the runner on.
Adam Leverett let up a hit as well but picked him off to end the frame clean.
Matt Seelinger got two outs in the sixth. He left with two runners on, who both walked to reach.
Francisco Morales notched a groundout to end the sixth. The righty took the seventh letting up the first run of the game, but struck out the side.
McKinley Moore did the same in the eighth. One run crossed the plate on a walk and a hit but he struck out the side as well.
Brian Marconi (W, 4-4) took the ninth clean after allowing two baserunners.
Mike Adams (S, 1) pitched a clean 10th, facing the minimum and stranding the placed runner on.
