
Pittsburgh Assigns Hartzell to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that goaltender Eric Hartzell has been assigned from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Hartzell, 24, has allowed only six goals in winning his last three starts with the Nailers and raised his record to 6-4-1 with a 3.08 GAA and a .901 save percentage. The rookie netminder has gone 10-7-1 this season for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with a 2.30 goals against average, a .908 save percentage and three shutouts.
Hartzell was named USA Hockey College Player of the Year and a Hobey Baker Finalist in 2013 as he helped Quinnipiac University make its first-ever appearance in both the Frozen Four and NCAA championship game. In four seasons at Quinnipiac, the native of White Bear, Minnesota posted a career record of 58-27-17 with a 1.96 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and 10 shutouts in 106 games.
The Penguins are back on home ice on Wednesday, March 26 as they take on the Providence Bruins at 7:05pm.
