MOLSON CUP THREE STARS
Bubba's Nephew: Twenty-three-year-old forward Colton Beck, who signed an amateur tryout contract with the IceCaps last week, is related to a famous New York Ranger. The former U.S.
college standout is the nephew of ex-NHL defenceman Barry Beck, who captained the Blueshirts from 1981-86. The elder Beck, nicknamed Bubba, was drafted 2nd overall in the 1977 NHL Entry Draft by the now-defunct Colorado Rockies and played in the 1979 Challenge Cup and 1981 Canada Cup.
Record-breaker: Rookie defenceman Brenden Kichton recently broke Jason Jaffray's franchise record for assists in a season (33). Kichton currently has 35 with 11 games remaining. Next record to fall?: With 49 points apiece, Jason Jaffray and Andrew Gordon appear poised to break Eric O'Dell's franchise record of 55 points in a season. Kael Mouillierat also has 49 points but is currently injured.
