Idaho Falls Chukars News Release

BILLINGS, MT -- Ryan O'Hearn continued his assault on the Pioneer League in the first inning. But, it was the Chukars pitchers making the difference in a 4-2 victory over the Mustangs to advance the Idaho Falls win streak to a season high three games.

Idaho Falls (12-11) moves above .500 for the first time this season, and the action started in the top of the first inning. Ryan O'Hearn blasted his fourth home run of the season to right center field. The two-run shot increased his hit streak to 12 games, and gave the Greybirds the early lead.

Billings (11-12) answered quickly in the bottom half of the inning. Torey Deshazier (2-0) allowed a leadoff walk to Brian O'Grady, and he advanced to third with one out. A fielding error by Brandon Thomasson on a ball hit by Corey Thompson led to a throwing error on Thomasson looking to gun down O'Grady at the plate. One more run scored on an Aristides Aquino single to tie it at two.

Idaho Falls regathered the lead in the fourth inning. Michael Hill notched one of the season high three Chukars triples to right field. Brandon Thomasson followed it up with a single to give the Greybirds a lead they would relinquish. Torey Deshazier settled down after the first inning to pitch five solid frames, allowing only those two runs (one earned), while striking out six.

DonAndre Clark's triple to the right field corner led to an insurance run for the Chukars in the seventh. Corey Toups smacked a line drive double to left field to advance the lead to 4-2. The Idaho Falls bullpen held strong, starting with Emilio Ogando's two scoreless innings. Sam Lewis pitched the final two innings, recording five of his six outs with a strikeout for his first save of the season.

Idaho Falls and Billings continues their four game series tomorrow night. Eric Skoglund is scheduled to start for Idaho Falls, against Eric Skoglund.
