RAPTORS EVEN SERIES

Ogden evened up this four-game series at a game apiece, riding an early wave of offense to a comfortable 7-2 win over the Voyagers Wednesday. After grabbing the lead with a run in the first, Ogden scored three times in the third and fourth innings to build a 7-0 lead that was plenty for their staff, which held Great Falls to just four hits, tying their season-low. The lone Voyager runs came in the fifth when Ethan Gross singled to center with the bases loaded to break up the shutout.

THE STREAK CONTINUES

While Great Falls managed just four hits Wednesday, one of them was a fourth inning single by Jake Peter who extended his hitting streak to 10 in a row. Hitting .452 (19-42) during this streak, Peter has boosted his average to a Pioneer League-leading .424 mark. The Mason City, Iowa native has also reached at least once in all 17 games, and his on-base is   .493, which also leads the PL.

NOT HOME SWEET HOME

After scoring 24 runs and collecting 30 hits in their two-game sweep at Missoula over the weekend, the Voyager bats have gone quiet in the first two games of this homestand, managing just five runs on nine hits. This has been a recurring theme for Great Falls in 2014, as the Voyagers are hitting just .221 at Centene Stadium as opposed to a .277 mark on the road. This has translated into lower run totals too, as Great Falls is scoring just 3.4 runs per game at home, but 5.7 on the road.

STONE-ING THE COMPETITION

Righty Dane Stone enters today with the second-best ERA among starters in the league, at 1.93. His last two outings have been especially effective, as he has turned in a pair of quality starts, allowing three runs in 13 innings. The Miami, Fla., native has set a career-high in strikeouts twice in a row, fanning seven against Missoula on June 29 before whiffing 10 Brewers last time out.
